Group committees
Pursuant to the Corporate Bylaws, the Executive Committee may form Group committees and delegate authorities and responsibilities to them. The committees are essential steering instruments to ensure a group-wide, consistent approach in their respective areas. Each Group committee is chaired by a member of the Executive Board.
Group Risk & Capital Committee (GRCC)
The GRCC co-ordinates all efforts to achieve an optimum return on Swiss Re’s capital base by deciding on the allocation of capital and capacity under the relevant constraints (e.g. local, statutory, tax, solvency). In addition it is responsible for approving changes to the capital adequacy framework (RAC and RBC) and Group-wide performance measurement methodology (EVM).
Group Products and Limits Committee (GPLC)
The GPLC determines the Group's product policy, secures the Group-wide application of uniform reinsurance underwriting standards, grants reinsurance and counter-party credit risk limits and decides on large and unusual transactions.
Group Regulatory Committee (GRC)
The GRC is the central information and co-ordination platform for regulatory matters at Swiss Re Group and Swiss Re Zurich level. It ensures a consistent approach in external communication in regulatory matters.
In addition to the Group committees, the Global Functions (Business and Corporate functions) are actively managed by a series of Global Function Committees:
| CMC | Client Markets Committee |
| PC | Products Committee |
| MPC | Markets & Products Committee |
| FMC | Financial Markets Committee |
| GRMC | Global Risk Management Committee |
| GOC | Global Operations Committee |
